We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Building Standards Surveyor to join our team. You will have experience in Building Standards and a thorough knowledge of the Building Regulations and associated legislation. You will deal with Building Warrant Applications and related consents quickly and effectively, with particular responsibility for a large volume of building warrants in relation to alterations and extensions to domestic properties, small scale housing
developments and minor works relating to non-domestic properties. You will also carry out site inspections in relation to our Building Standards functions.
You will have excellent communication skills, be customer focused and have strong interpersonal skills. You will also have a range and depth of knowledge relating to building construction, technology and defects.
Opportunities will be available for personal development, including were appropriate assisting our Lead Building Standards Surveyors on large developments.
West Dunbartonshire Council is investing in its office accommodation to improve the working environment of
staff and enhance the service provided to residents. This post has been identified as one which will move from
its current location (Aurora House, Clydebank) to one of the new office sites (New Dumbarton Office, Church Street, Dumbarton) within the next 3‐6 months. Applicants are asked to note the interim location and the new location for this post.
