A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented and confident Leadership Support Officer to provide professional administrative and secretarial support to the Strategic Director and Strategic Lead.
You will be working at a senior level in a fast paced and busy environment which will call upon you to respond quickly to changing priorities, as well as be prepared for future activity. In addition to planning work schedules, diary appointments and prioritising requests, you will also be a trusted support in often highly confidential matters.
You will need to co-ordinate briefings, reports, presentations and correspondence in partnership with senior managers to a high standard.
This is a demanding post and the successful candidate will need to be resilient, pro-active, highly organised, a problem solver and able to use their own initiative. It is also an exceptional role that offers a varied and rewarding opportunity for the right individual.
West Dunbartonshire Council is investing in its office accommodation to improve the working environment of staff and enhance the service provided to residents. This post has been identified as one which will move from its current location (Garshake Road, Dumbarton) to one of the new office sites (16 Church Street, Dumbarton) within the next 3 months. Applicants are asked to note the interim location and the new location for this post.
You will have extensive previous experience as a PA at a senior level. With excellent attention to detail and strong IT skills, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word. You will have the ability to demonstrate decision making skills and be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
Also crucial to the role will be your excellent organisational and planning skills and your ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
Being self motivated and able to work under pressure is key to this role and time management skills of a high standard are essential in providing that support. You must be highly proactive in the working arrangements of both Senior Managers and provide a high level of support in a professional manner.
