West Dunbartonshire Council is looking to recruit a Principal ELC Officer for Ferryfield Early Learning Childcare Centre to manage and support the delivery of high quality early learning and childcare within West Dunbartonshire as we move towards expanded hours.
It is essential that you have excellent leadership skills, experience of management of an early years provision, effective communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others. A strong commitment to taking forward and implementing local and national initiatives is crucial to the role. With management and practical experience in working with pre-five children in a relevant setting in curriculum planning and delivering a curriculum as well as a commitment to developing parental involvement. You must have sound knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) and Pre-Birth to Three Guidance likewise able to demonstrate a clear understanding of child development. Education Services are committed to the care and welfare of young people in a childcare environment.
It is essential that you hold a BA in Childhood Practice (or equivalent) and be registered with SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) or gain this within 6 months of appointment. Further information on the role is contained within the job profile.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
