An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Mental Health Team at Goldenhill Resource Centre for a 2 year fixed term, full time social work assistant to join the team. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, using their own initiative. An understanding of the current pressures experienced in the Health and Social Care sector is essential as well as the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This is a challenging and rewarding role which will require the successful candidate to work in a multi-disciplinary setting, consulting with citizens and their representatives to ensure their needs and rights are promoted while practicing within policy and legislative frameworks. It would be desirable for the individual to have some knowledge and experience of engaging with individuals experiencing mental ill health.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults and Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
