Under the direction of the designated teacher, the postholder will work with and support school pupils by undertaking a range of activities relating to the general supervision, safety, care and wellbeing of pupils.
St John the Baptist Primary School is a Roman Catholic primary school for the children of Fauldhouse and Longridge.
The current roll of the school is 186 school pupils. Staffing is in accordance with authority guidelines. This comprises of a Head Teacher, a Principal teacher and 10 teachers (part-time and full-time), including an RCCT Teacher. The nursery roll is currently 51 and staff comprise 2 Early Years’ Officers and 5 Nursery Nurses. In addition there is a school admin and 4 pupil support workers.
There is an active Parent Council and the school has good links with our local community. The school values collaboration and has strong collegiate links with cluster schools. St John the Baptist Primary continues to offer pupils a wide range of learning experiences in an inclusive, nurturing environment where creativity, independence and self-directed learning is promoted and encouraged. The school manages improvement throughout the session by implementing the main priorities detailed in the School Improvement Plan.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the West Lothian Council
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
