Balbardie Primary School is a non-denominational primary school serving its local community in Bathgate and is part of the Bathgate Academy cluster of schools . The current school roll is 431 organised into 16 classes, with 3 specialist classes for learners with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The Head Teacher also has strategic and operational responsibility for the learning in Bathgate West Nursery which currently has 97 children and wraparound provision. Parental and community support for the school is high, and an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all children and their families is evident.
The school works very closely with the other schools in the Bathgate cluster and engages in cross sector improvement work. All members of the school community believe that everyone has the right to learn, progress and achieve, and the school works in partnership with parents/carers and other agencies to create an inclusive, ambitious environment where children develop resilience and respond positively to challenge. Balbardie Primary School has earned a very good reputation within the community and is very well supported by the parent council and the wider parent forum. The parent council works in close partnership with the school and provides support in identifying areas for improvement
