The Support at Home Service has now been in operation since April 2012 and continues to develop its presence within West Lothian. There are a range of services within the Support at Home Service group, which include re-ablement, crisis care, home safety service and domiciliary care.
The service is now looking to appoint 7 part time care staff (25 hours per week) on a fixed term basis that will form a team who will provide personal care and practical assistance to adults and older people. The purpose of the support provided will be to enable people to remain safely at home, whilst encouraging independence where it is safe to do so.
Applicants will be expected to commit to a split shift system which will require working mornings and either late afternoon or evening times. A shift allowance is payable for this.
Ideally applicants should have experience of working in a community based setting, and should be able to demonstrate knowledge of a range of health issues. However we are equally interested in your personality and attitude, as well as you possessing an interest and desire to support people within their own homes. Full training for the role will be given.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
