This post is critical to the delivery and ongoing development of excellent, cost effective IT services which are able to respond quickly, adapt progressively and meet ever-increasing council demands.
This role provides a technical support service to customers involving the installation and maintenance of all technical platforms and systems that support the delivery of council services. Technical platforms and systems include McAfee EPO, VMWare, SQL 2012, Active Directory, Windows 7, SCCM, Server 2008 & 2012, Solaris 11, Linux, Net App Storage, CS1000, Avaya Aura Contact Centre, Trend Micro Filters, Swivel Secure, Microsoft Exchange and Bitlocker.
The post holder will be required to communicate with the IT Management Team, Service/Project Managers and IT technical staff on a planned and unplanned basis on technical planning and problem determination using their communication skills to explain technical problems, provide updates on project tasks, status reports and research findings.
The IT structure is based on ITILv3 principles and you must have an understanding of good practice. Applicants will also have experience in IT with a focus on Service Delivery and customer support.
