The post holder will work in the Advice Shop Financial Inclusion Team to promote financial inclusion and alleviate poverty through advice, advocacy and representation.  This will include:

Supporting the Anti-Poverty Management Team in ensuring the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient Anti-Poverty Service in accordance with the relevant legislation and guidance, council policy and standards.

Responsibility for the line management of Campaign Development Officers, Money Advisors and/or Information Advice Officers. 

To assist in the delivery of service initiative, including assisting and providing information for the formulation and implementation of policy and procedures and the specification and development of relevant IT systems and processes.

Provide information, advice and representation on statutory benefits, welfare reform, money, debt and housing advice including tribunal representation in order to support customers to maximise their income, manage their debt and remain in their home.  This will include identifying areas of benefit under-claiming, targeting of customers potentially affected by welfare reform and promoting take up.

Provide detailed and up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefit and tax credit legislation and support service delivery through the provision of specialist knowledge in specific areas of advice.
