Procurement Co-Ordinator Fixed Term

Salary: Grade 6 £33,166 - £36,060 (Please note successful candidate will commence at £33,166 per annum)

The City of Glasgow College employs circa. 1,400 staff, has an annual turnover of over £90 million with an approximate non-pay expenditure of £36 million annually, of which procurement influence around £14 million.

Due to capital investment and an ambitious new Digital Strategy an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, innovative candidate who is ready to make and impact on an award-winning procurement team within Scotland largest, sector leading college.

This role is for a Procurement Co-ordinator to work within the college’s centralised procurement team, reporting to the Head of Procurement and supporting the wider team and college. You will play a key role in the delivery of the procurement strategy across the college and ensuring that the college’s procurement activity achieves value for money and is compliant with Public Sector Procurement Regulations.

With strong experience of working within a strategic procurement environment, the post holder will have responsibility for the strategic sourcing and contract/commercial management of designated goods and services ensuring maximisation of cost efficiencies through the implementation of best procurement practise. The Procurement Co-ordinator will take the lead and be responsible for their assigned commodity portfolio, in particular value for money against business need, risk reduction and delivery of sustainability procurement outcomes with particular focus on climate change and measurement and reduction of scope 3 emissions.

Applicants should be educated to as least HND level or equivalent or demonstrate in-depth experience in a similar role. You should have sound experience in a strategic procurement environment, a strong working knowledge of legislation and contract law and a proven record of accomplishment in delivering robust commercially sound contracts. Communication and relationship building skills are essential in this role when working with internal and external stakeholders.

The procurement team currently provide support across major projects within the college and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a deserve selection of upcoming projects: Network Refresh, Network SIEM, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Server Maintenance, Student Records System, Digital Marketing Service, Public Affairs Services, Student Counselling Hair & Beauty Equipment and Consumables, Promotional Materials, Food.
