Sustainability Project Manager - Central and South Scotland College Partnership

The UK's sustainability alliance of universities and colleges, the EAUC, has a unique opportunity for an exceptional person to support three Scottish Colleges on their sustainability journey. Are you that person?

Salary: Grade 7 (£34,304-38,587), plus 12.5% employer pension contribution

Contract Type: Fixed term for 18 months, with potential for extension.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Borders College, Forth Valley College, West Lothian College or home based, with regular travel between the three colleges (likely one day in each per week initially) and around central Scotland

Closing date: Sunday 3rd October at midnight

Interview date: Wednesday 20th October at Forth Valley College's Falkirk Campus (depending on Covid-19 restrictions at the time)

About your new role:

Hosted by the small and dynamic EAUC-Scotland Team, this new role will work between three of Scotland’s colleges to progress sustainability within governance, operations, teaching and learning and engagement activities.

Job Purpose:

• To lead the sustainability agenda across the three partner colleges, working with colleagues at each to develop and implement sustainability plans and projects in line with the requirements and guidance from the Scottish Government, College Development Network and EAUC.
• To be the resident “expert” on sustainability for all three colleges, supporting all staff and students in their efforts to progress sustainability in governance, operations, teaching and learning and engagement activities.
• To develop business cases, secure funding for, develop and manage a number of existing and identified sustainability projects across all three colleges, and to advance sustainability ambition and action by proposing additional work.
• To develop collaborative projects between the three colleges, and enhance communication between the colleges and with other EAUC Members

This is a unique role, and whilst this role is an EAUC member of staff you will be based in and working for the 3 colleges as part of a shared service. You will benefit from the wider support of the EAUC team as well as the teams in each of the colleges. You will be rewarded with involvement in a dynamic charity, generous holidays and a 12.5% employer pension contribution.
