Role/Subject Specific Information

Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the exciting post of Learning Assistant for Music and Sound Production.

We require a resourceful and committed individual to join the Music and Sound Production Team to fulfil the role of Learning Assistant on a permanent contract.

This is a key role within the team and the Learning Assistant will be responsible for the provision of Music and Sound Production support to teaching staff, students and commercial clients across a range of actives in the specialist recourses of the Music Box and CRE:8 (including sector leading recording studios and performance spaces).


What you will offer us

You must be educated to a minimum level of HND or equivalent in a Music and/or Sound Production discipline. The successful applicant will be occupationallycompetent within this field and possess a strong knowledge and understanding of established and emerging practices, especially in the creative and technical applications of music technology and sound production to support learning andfacilitate a range of creative projects and events.

Candidates should also be familiar with musical instruments, their operation and general maintenance and have the ability to facilitate creative learning environments that encourage the integrated use of music and music technology.

Additionally, you must have the ability to communicate and relate well to learners of different abilities working effectively as part of a wider team. A Degree in a Music and Sound Production discipline is desirable and previous experience of training or educational environments, instructional design and the use of virtual learning environments(VLE) would be advantageous.

Salary - Band E GBP 24529 - GBP 26310 per annum (appointment is usually made at the first point of the scale. Role is subject to the application of a national process of Job Evaluation).
