Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person/persons to take up the post of Lecturer in Health and Social Services (Counselling Programmes) for one or two evening classes (Currently Tuesday and Thursday evenings 4.30pm to 8.30pm with additional time for admin, class prep, meetings etc. however time/days may change over time)
As a lecturer within the Health and Social Care team you will be involved in the development and delivery of Scottish Vocational Qualifications in Counselling SCQF Level 5-8. You will be joining an established team with a wealth of expertise who will support you in your new role and you will be given significant ongoing guidance and training weekly.
To be considered for this post you will be a qualified counselling/psychotherapy practitioner with a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling (or equivalent Counselling Qualification) and with a strong understanding of Humanistic/Person Centred approaches. In addition to an appropriate Degree or Professional Qualification, you will also be a Registered Counselling Practitioner with an ongoing caseload. You will be a COSCA Accredited trainer or must commit to working towards achieving COSCA Trainer Accreditation.
Applicants must be available to teach during the evening and be able to demonstrate creative approaches to teaching, a willingness to share practice and contribute to the development of resources and have an interest in the ongoing academic/research aspects of the field.
Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, be happy to teach a wide range of students and work effectively within a team.
