We are currently seeking applications for a Lead Specialist within Education Scotland which could be based in Glasgow, Livingston, Dundee or Aberdeen. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The Lead Specialists support the Senior Lead Specialists and the Head of Professional Learning and Leadership in the development of the Professional Learning and Leadership Directorate within Education Scotland as a portal for leadership and professional learning in Scotland as well as the phased development of the suite of programmes, opportunities and networks that Professional Learning and Leadership Directorate provide.


Each lead specialist leads and supports work across the core themes of teacher, middle, school and system leadership as well as broader professional learning. The roles requires ongoing liaison and consultation with a range of teacher networks, professional bodies and partner organisations, senior staff in local authorities, their educational establishments, universities and the Scottish Government. In building Professional Learning and Leadership within Education Scotland's portfolio of provision the lead specialists are required to liaise with a range of providers to commission and procure services on behalf of the organisation.
