Lecturer - Bricklaying
£34,170 - £42,357 (pro-rata)
0.32 FTE,11.2 hours per week
Fixed Term until June 2022
Based at Falkirk Campus

We have a vacancy for a suitably qualified lecturer with a background in brickwork. You will be a time served bricklayer with good practical craft experience and have a Level 3 SVQ qualification or a City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Brickwork.

You will be a confident, flexible, quality driven individual who has a sound technical, professional and operational experience in the subject of brickwork as well as good planning and organisational skills. You will have a professional approach to dealing with external organisations as well as the ability to coach and build a rapport with students, motivating them to participate successfully in vocational education and training. You will produce high quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching within the specialist area. You will work with others to develop new approaches to teaching, making use of learning technologies.

Ensuring that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date, you will contribute to the development of elements of provision and enhance students’ learning through providing support. You will naturally have a strong learner focus.

Ideally, you will have experience of developing innovative teaching practice along with good organisational skills and evidence of appropriate ICT skills. You will also possess good knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and a sound understanding of quality standards. Ideally, you will have a Personal Development Award in Teaching, TQFE or Assessor/Verifier qualifications or have a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.
