Temporary up until June 2018

The Department of Creative Industries is based at the Stirling campus of Forth Valley College, with programmes also offered in both our Falkirk and Alloa campuses. The successful post holder will be based in Stirling but will, on occasion, have to travel to the other two campuses. The department offers a range of programmes, from introductory and access level to degree, in the broad specialisms of Art & Design, Media and Communication, Computing and Sound Production.

Our Stirling facilities include purpose-built sound production, radio and television studios, and you will have knowledge and experience of operating and troubleshooting a wide variety of equipment across our facilities, including analogue and digital recording studios, sound reinforcement systems, radio production studios and digital video and photography equipment. You must also possess a sound working knowledge of Mac OSX, and specialist software such as Avid Pro Tools, Reason, and Final Cut Pro X. Ability to undertake minor repairs such as soldering cables is essential. An ability to undertake basic component level repairs to equipment would be a distinct advantage.

You will be a dynamic, flexible, pro-active individual with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will be enthusiastic in your approach to supporting the work of staff and students across the key areas of Media and Sound Production. Using your excellent organsisational skills, you will effectively manage the department’s technical resources and contribute to the efficient implementation and management of equipment booking systems and procedures.

You will effectively contribute to the implementation of Health and Safety policies across the department and as such will carry out risk assessments and any other duties required to ensure a safe working environment for staff and students.
