An opportunity has arisen to join us as a Lecturer in Human Resource Management. The role is based within the Department of Management and HRM, located within Glasgow School for Business and Society. The Department delivers a wide range of programmes in the area of International Business Management, HRM, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Social Innovation. Our HRM programmes are delivered at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The highly successful MSc HRM and MSc International HRM programmes are fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and aligned to the US Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) standards and the MSc International HRM is recognised by the Australian Human Resources Institute.

The applicant should have the expertise and flexibility to deliver a range of modules across the Human Resource Management/Development discipline, including leadership, organisational behaviour and cross-cultural management.  In particular, we welcome applicants who have experience of teaching on CIPD approved programmes. You should also have experience of supervising student research dissertations, and have a genuine interest in participating in the professional development of students by engaging in academic advising/personal tutoring and/or placement supervision. Experience of creating online learning materials and teaching within online and blended-learning environments is also welcomed.

Applicants should either be qualified to doctorate level within the Human Resource Management discipline or hold a relevant Masters qualification and be very near to completion of their doctorate (i.e - within 3 months of submission). In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to the publication of research in their chosen field.

Applicants are expected to have excellent communication, planning and organisational skills. You should also be able to demonstrate a student-centred approach and an ability to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues.    Successful applicants will be expected to undertake a teaching qualification if not already qualified.
