This is a full time/fixed term opportunity for 48 months

Glasgow Caledonian University is a vibrant, multi-cultural and modern university in the centre of Glasgow, and is placed amongst the top 50 universities globally (THE Impact rankings, 2020).  Our welcoming community of 20,000 students, from more than 100 countries, enjoy a wide range of award-winning support services and state of the art facilities across each of our campuses in Glasgow, London and New York.  Our University mission - with its commitment to the Common Good and core values of integrity, creativity, responsibility and confidence - is integral to everything we do.

An exciting and rare opportunity to join a prestigious 48-month European training network programme. We are looking for a research fellow to join the European training network Health Cascade (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/956501) team. The project is an international collaboration between Ghent University (Belgium), VUmc (the Netherlands), Glasgow Caledonian University (UK), Umea University (Sweden), Foundation Blanquerna (Spain), Jacobs University (Germany) and Demokritos (Greece) to advance methods of co-creation and participatory research in public health and health care.

The Health Cascade project is situated at the intersection of health promotion, public health, social sciences, digital technologies and high impact applications that will deliver training to a new generation of professionals. During the project, 15 PhD students will develop novel co-creation projects in schools, work places, health care and nursing homes to promote health and physical activity. The project has a strong methodological focus and aims to develop evidence-based methods of co-creation supported with state of the art digital enabling technologies, building on the previous joined work of the consortium https://researchinvolvement.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40900-018-0136-9.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the research across the network, and will have the opportunity to conduct research on evidence based co-creation in line with the Health Cascade research training network aims and objectives.

We are looking for an individual with experience in multidisciplinary health promotion research and who enjoys working in collaboration with researchers from diverse disciplines as well as other stakeholders and members of the public. The candidate will need to demonstrate previous experience in conducting primary research in health and physical activity promotion and will have a track record of peer-reviewed academic publications. The candidate will need outstanding organisational skills and the ability to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences.

Further details on this post and more details of the project are available by contacting Prof Sebastien Chastin at sebastien.chastin@gcu.ac.uk.
