FACULTY TECHNICIAN – SCIENCE
FIXED TERM
Based within the Faculty of Health & Wellbeing, we are looking for an experienced candidate to provide an efficient, effective and flexible technical support service to the School of Health and Life Sciences. The post holder will support the curriculum by maintaining a clean and organised store of scientific materials and equipment; preparing and cleaning equipment after use; setting up experiments and practical demonstrations; ordering stock and ensuring proper paper and electronic records are maintained.
You will be responsible to the Assistant Principal, Health & Wellbeing but will work closely with the Curriculum Quality Leader and the lecturing staff. Based at our Langside Campus you will also support delivery at our Anniesland site as necessary. The department currently runs courses from National 5 to HND level in a range of scientific specialisms including Biomedical Science and Industrial Biotechnology.
A science qualification at HNC level or higher would be desirable but consideration will be given to equivalent qualifications, apprenticeships or experience. Knowledge of microbiology is essential. Health & Safety practices is essential with experience and knowledge of support and customer care in a technical area is required.
