TEMPORARY CLASSROOM ASSISTANTS

(TERM TIME STAFF)

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to provide Extended Learning Support (ELS) to students registered within the Equality and Inclusion Unit. You will be responsible for providing support in a variety of settings in class and within the Inclusive Learning Centre. The main focus of this role is to provide support to students including: note taking, reading and proof reading, prompting, escorting students to classes, assisting with study skills and invigilating. Successful candidates will be part of a bank of Classroom Assistants.

You will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong planning and organisational skills. You will have the ability to deal with sensitive, emotive and contentious issues in a variety of settings. Educated to SCQF level 7 or equivalent with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. Experience of working with students with disabilities and/or additional support needs is desirable.

Successful candidates will be expected to travel between all three of the Glasgow Clyde College campuses as required and will have, or register for, membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

Salary: £11.71 per hour (Including holiday pay: £1.98-£2.12 per hour depending on length of service)

Location: Cross Campus - you will be required to travel between all Glasgow Clyde campuses
