Teacher of Business Education - Permanent Full-Time

We are seeking to appoint a full-time, permanent Teacher of Business Education.

The faculty comprises the Principal Teacher, a Teacher of Computing and a Business Education Teacher. There are 4 IT suites each with 21 PCs and an interactive whiteboard. BECSIT is an interdisciplinary Business Education Computing Science and Information Technology programme delivered by the department to pupils from Primary 7 to S2.

Jordanhill School has long been an award winning centre of excellence in the use of ICT. It was the first school in Scotland to be fully accredited for the ICT Mark.

For many years the school has operated its own 'Sharepoint' portal which underpins much of the daily routines and management of the school. It has a 10Gb link to Glow and Office 365 provides pupils with anytime anywhere access to learning resources. Our systems also support the use of your own device on campus.

Applicants with an additional teaching qualification in Computing will have an opportunity to contribute to this aspect of the faculty. Such a qualification is not a requirement of the post.

Applicants should be confident of their ability to work with able pupils. They should also be able to respond to the needs of the full range of abilities found in a non- selective environment.

The intended commencement date is 17th December 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applicants require to be registered with GTC Scotland to teach Business Education. Appointment of the successful candidate is conditional on a successful PVG check prior to commencement in the post, satisfactory references, presentation of relevant qualifications and confirmation of the right to work in the UK. Any offer of employment will be withdrawn if any of the above conditions are not satisfied.
