An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Campus Operations Officer at Queen Margaret University. Working within the Campus Operations department, you will be part of a customer focused team providing frontline services across the campus estate, including security, safety, reception and facilities support.

As an ambassador for Queen Margaret University, you will provide a welcoming and highly visible presence at the main reception and around the campus. You will also provide a first-response service for incidents and emergencies in line with University procedures, demonstrating careful judgement, excellent customer service and a high level of integrity.

A can-do attitude is a must for this varied role. To support the smooth running of building operations you will work flexibly to undertake practical tasks including portering, arranging furniture and equipment, and dealing with urgent maintenance issues.

Reporting to the Campus Operations Supervisor, you will work 12 hour shifts on a 4 days on, 4 days off pattern, alternating between dayshifts (06:00-18:00) and nightshifts (18:00-06:00).

Candidates should have substantial experience of working in a similar customer facing role. An eye for detail is particularly important, as is the ability to analyse information and produce accurate written reports. Whilst Security experience is desirable, comprehensive training will be provided.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital in this role and candidates must have the ability to confidently deal with challenging situations in a calm, proportionate and professional manner.

Good IT skills are also essential as this role requires frequent use of computerised facilities management systems and equipment.

The closing date for this position is Sunday 3rd July 2022.
