Queen Victoria School (QVS), a boarding school for the children of service personnel and funded by the Ministry of Defence, is looking to appoint a Teacher of English. The school is set in 45 acres of beautiful countryside and offers stability and continuity of education for those who board with us.

The English Department currently consists of one Principal Teacher and two Teachers.

We require an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join the Department. Applicants must be well qualified graduates with sound communication and time management skills. They must have a comprehensive knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and be suitably qualified to teach all levels, up to and including Higher English. Applicants must be GTC Scotland registered and also PVG registered prior to taking up post.

Salary is based on SNCT Agreements. In addition, QVS Boarding School Allowance is payable to reflect the requirement to undertake additional boarding duties. Currently this allowance is £7,752. However, it should be noted that all allowances are under review and there is no guarantee that this will always be available. A commitment to boarding school life, including taking part in extra curricular activities, is essential. Previous experience in sports coaching, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme or CCF would be desirable.
