Naturally, you’ll take the lead on strategic and financial planning, ensuring they dovetail with the overall objectives of the university.

To provide visible leadership and focus for the future development of the School within the context of existing and future strategic plans.
To develop and implement the School academic plan in line with the strategic objectives of the University.
To ensure the optimal management and development of the School's resources, staff, finance, equipment/assets and accommodation in order to meet the objectives as stated in the academic plan.
To advise on and coordinate the deployment of resources across the School, to delegate as appropriate and to supervise and monitor their subsequent use ensuring that it is educationally and economically most effective.
To lead the current and future development and delivery of the School course portfolio to ensure provision is of high quality, innovative and produces motivated, highly professional an employable graduates.
To ensure the quality of the student experience, student progression and retention, quality assurance and enhancement and the maintenance of academic standards across the School portfolio of courses and CPD provision through Annual Course Appraisal and Institutional Led Subject Review.
To ensure target student numbers across the School portfolio are met for financial viability through an effective marketing and recruitment strategy.
To liaise closely with relevant external stakeholders to ensure that appropriate undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD courses are provided to meet the needs of the external marketplace.
To take a lead role in growing commercial income to meet targets set by the University.
To externally network, collaborate and partner with employers and other relevant organisations, professional bodies, private sector etc. to promote the interest of the School and the University.
To effectively engage with stakeholder groups in order to influence regional/national policy to promote the interest of the School and the University.
To develop and implement the School Health and Safety Plan.
To participate effectively and collegiately with University working groups and projects and initiatives as required. To liaise effectively and coordinate with other Schools across the University.
