Job Summary
The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences at RGU is looking to appoint a specialist E-tutor in Mental Health and Psychiatry to support the delivery of pharmacy courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The role is suitable for applicants with a wide range of clinical backgrounds, including nursing or medical as well as pharmacy. Annotation as a prescriber and active prescriber experience would also be desirable.
This role is designed as a part-time post (75h/academic year) which may be particularly attractive for applicants who wish to gain some academic experience whilst retaining their base within in a specialist clinical practice setting.
Considering the fast paced and evolving landscape of pharmacy education, this is an exciting time to be involved with initiatives within the School. We already have a highly successful course portfolio: the undergraduate Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) course and postgraduate degrees in Clinical Pharmacy Practice, Advanced Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy Service Development at MSc level, along with the Independent Prescribing courses. We are currently involved in the re-design of the MPharm course and postgraduate course portfolio in response to the new GPhC education and training standards and other initiatives such as the Foundation training year, Clinical Academic Fellows and Consultant Pharmacist programmes.

Salary on first appointment is normally to the bottom of the scale, although in exceptional circumstances an appointment further up the scale may be considered.

Job Description
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of School
RESPONSIBLE FOR: No line management responsibility
PURPOSE OF POST: To carry out designated online teaching, facilitating and assessment duties in the undergraduate Master of Pharmacy course and the postgraduate courses (MSc Clinical Pharmacy Practice; MSc Advanced Pharmacy Practice, MSc Clinical Pharmacy Service Development) including Pharmacist Independent Prescribing or as otherwise required by the Head of School.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Contribution to the design, development and delivery of teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Facilitate and support the students in particular:
• Participate in the design, delivery and assessment of online activities
• Participate in the authoring and review of learning materials
• Contribute to the online tutoring and support of students using the RGU virtual leaning environment (Campusmoodle).
Duties include an appropriate balance of the following:
• Develop and maintain expertise in subject areas
• Participate in subject and course development
• Participate in course curriculum development
• Establish and maintain relevant professional and industrial links, as necessary, for the effective operation of the School's courses (e.g., engagement in work of external bodies, educational and professional)
Teaching and related activity including:
• Online, open and distance learning support
• Examining and assessment
Course and curriculum development Scholarly activity and personal development including:
• Educational management and administration

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Professional Memberships
MPharm (or equivalent) pharmacy degree or a degree in a related healthcare discipline
Knowledge
Specialist knowledge of the clinical management of psychiatric illness
Experience
Up to date and specialist practice experience in Mental Health and Psychiatry.

GPhC Registrant with annotation as Pharmacist Independent Prescriber or equivalent registration with other healthcare regulatory bodies.
MSc in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)
