Job Summary

This post will be part of a small team dedicated to deliver improvements to the University Student Record Systems in partnership with suppliers and business owners. The team is involved in requirements gathering, process mapping, system configuration, data migration and integration, acceptance testing and support activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a new or recent graduate. Full training and mentoring will be provided for the successful candidate on configuration of the Student Records System software.

Salary on first appointment is normally to the bottom of the scale, although in exceptional circumstances an appointment further up the scale may be considered.

Job Description

RESPONSIBLE TO: Academic Administration Continuous Improvement Project Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: No supervisory responsibility


The role will support business process improvement by providing expert level knowledge and capability in the configuration of the Student Record System (Tribal SITS) and other tools to meet the requirements of stakeholders. This will include maintenance and development of processing rules, process automation and user-friendly on-line solutions to support improved student experience and streamline business processes.


Work with the business owners to document and understand requirements and to implement solutions

Process mapping and analysis to improve efficiency and inform solution building

Definition of configuration plans and specifications

Configuration of SITS E-vision software to meet agreed business requirements. This will involve implementing automations, processing rules, tasks, vistas, table updates, SRL and web communications tool

Support data integrations and migration

Provide documentation to support configuration, change and release management

Writing test plans and supporting end user testing

Ensuring appropriate user access to SITS is set up and maintained

Provide problem resolution support for SITS, liaising with the supplier as may be appropriate to obtain and implement solutions

Provide end-user and functional support in new functionality and systems

Create functional operational procedures and documentation to ensure sustainability on improvements implemented

Educated to HND/Degree level


Knowledge of business applications
Understanding of Relational databases
Understanding of the relationships between users, data and transactional processing

Degree in Computing/Business Information or equivalent


Understanding of WCAG 2.1
