At Robert Gordon’s College, we place a high level of importance on the safety and cleanliness of our school environment and have a dedicated team of cleaners who provide the daily cleaning services onsite. We currently have opportunities to join our cleaning team and welcome applications from individuals who share our commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

The regular hours of work are Monday - Friday from 5.30 - 8.30pm. On occasion, overtime is available, however, this is not guaranteed.

The main duties of our cleaners are to carry out daily cleaning tasks to the expected standard. These duties include;

  • Dusting of surfaces in classroom, general reception and office areas
  • Vacuuming and/or mopping of classroom and toilet floors
  • Cleaning/mopping of stairways and stairwells
  • Carrying out general daily cleaning tasks
  • Maintaining supplies of consumables in the toilets and hand washing areas
  • Washing down of internal walls when required
  • Working on machinery
  • Scrubber/dryers, carpet shampoo and buffers
  • Must be chemically aware (COSHH)

In addition to our standard cleaning duties, we are doing all we can to ensure that all measures we can put in place to help restrict the transmission of Covid-19. To help us to do this, additional cleaning responsibilities are in place including the cleaning of all ‘touch’ areas including light switches, door handles, handrails, etc. and ensuring that the hand sanitiser stations we have in multiple locations across the site are full and operational.

All personal protective equipment is provided, as is full training.

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, we offer access to discounts at a number of local retailers, free & confidential wellbeing provision including an employee helpline, a grant towards the purchase of eyewear for personal use, a computer purchase grant and a Bike to Work scheme.

To apply please, provide your CV and submit it, along with a cover letter, to our dedicated recruitment team. Closing date for the post is Tuesday 5th October 2021.
