Sciennes After School Care Scheme SCIO offer out of school care (Breakfast Club, After School Care and Holiday Services) to children aged 4.5 to 12 years based within the dining hall of Sciennes Primary school.

We are currently looking to employ Full Time, Term Time Play Workers to join our existing staff team at both after school club and breakfast club.

Play Workers will be involved in the day to day operations of a large and successful after school club and will take part in all aspects of the daily schedule including: set up/tidy up of the playroom; preparation of snack; collection of children; daily/weekly cleaning duties; delivery of both indoor and outdoor activities; supervision of children during free play periods. Although a qualification (see job description) and experience of working with groups of children is desirable, more importantly an enthusiasm for working with children, a positive attitude to teamwork and a willingness to learn from experience are essential elements of these roles.

Full Time After School Club Play Workers will work 23 hours 45 minutes per week, Monday to Friday during City of Edinburgh Council school terms. Full Time Breakfast Club Play Workers will work 7 hours 30 minutes per week during school terms. Please carefully consider the hours of work and school term dates as detailed in the additional information provided, as it is essential that Full Time Term Time Play Workers are available to work throughout each full school term.
