We have a Deputy Manager vacancy for our very busy nursery in Gretna. Are you enthusiastic, dedicated, professional, who is inspirational and passionate about early years and play based learning then this might be for you. Our nursery follows a Curiosity Approach to learning which is an exciting new pedagogy, after years of research and experience, children need opportunities to be researchers in their own play. To move away from plastic manufactured toys and electronic gadgets, which are having an adverse effect on children's mental health and opportunities to develop critical creative thinking and holistic development, our curiosity approach allows children to use authentic resources, loose parts and recycled materials. Our ethos encourages children to think critically, develop language and explore light and shadow on overhead projectors, it has a positive impact on the well-being, happiness and education of young children, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children. Our environment is a haven of calmness and tranquillity inviting children to play explore use their imagination, be creative and learn.

Our team encourage children to develop holistically through their heart and soul and not just through a formal and regimented approach; they do this through responsive interactions and a mindful approach to planning and next steps.

You will be responsible for supporting and reporting to the Head of Centre where you will be required to lead and manage daily operational duties, develop, support and train a team of educators and apprentices to be the best they can be, building a strong team of like minded people.

We have strong relationships with our families and professionals alike and you will be required to ensure that communication is of the highest professional standard at all times.

The health and well being of our stakeholders is key and very important at this time especially and we are developing a support network for all, inspirational training and support will be made available.

Experience of running a team of childcare practitioners will be a minimum requirement along with a suitable childcare qualification, offer a high degree of integrity and are open and honest.
