Job Description

The University of Stirling are looking to appoint a Marketing Campaigns Officer with Communications, Marketing and Public Engagement.

The Post

We are looking for an ambitious, proactive and detail orientated marketing professional with experience of project managing publications and marketing campaigns at a corporate level within a large organisation. The Marketing Campaigns Officer will work as part of the Marketing team within the CMPE directorate.

You will need to have extensive experience of copywriting, editing and co-ordinating the design and print management process, from briefing to delivery and distribution, to ensure that projects meet organisational objectives and are delivered on time, on budget and to the required standard.

The post holder will champion the brand across the University, working closely with colleagues in Marketing to develop inspiring marketing collateral, digital content and publications, and to position the brand to internal and external audiences.

The post holder will also oversee the maintenance of the brand guidelines and the digital media image and film library, offering advice to internal stakeholders on the procurement of design, photography and print from external suppliers, the application of the brand, and the use of standard copy and images.

The post holder will report to the Marketing Manager and will be expected to act as an integral member of the Marketing team, providing wider support where necessary. This is an exciting role for someone with experience and a passion for producing engaging content. You must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong project management experience with an exceptional level of attention to detail.

Description of Duties

The role of the Marketing Campaigns Officer is to develop and implement brand and recruitment campaigns. You will be responsible for raising awareness of Stirling through print and online media and for evaluating and reporting on the success of your work. You will need to prioritise activities and manage complex demands on your time. You will be required to:

  • Produce critical time-paths and schedules for publications and design briefs for external suppliers, ensuring that publications are delivered to schedule within budget, are accurate and on brand.
  • Liaise with academics and professional support colleagues to collate content for use across a wide range of channels.
  • Write, edit and collate accurate and engaging content for both print and online platforms which highlight the research strengths and unique features of the University’s course portfolio and student experience. (A major component of this role will be managing the undergraduate and postgraduate prospectuses and supporting collateral, editorial articles, case studies and general web content).
  • Manage the publications cost-centre budget, including preparing the annual budget submission and ensure that the University’s procurement policies are adhered to.
  • Responsible for developing marketing collateral and rich media content, including the undergraduate and postgraduate prospectus, leaflets, adverts, exhibition banners, posters, stationery, presentations, e-newsletters, photography, film, and promotional items.
  • Maintain a bank of marketing tools relating to the project management of publications such as briefing templates, disclaimers and model-release agreements.
  • Producing work with external agencies and approved suppliers to procure design, copy, print, and photography.
  • Ensure that the University website is updated and consistently improved by posting and repurposing written content, videos and photographs.
  • Maintain the brand guidelines, house style and visual identity for all University of Stirling communications.
  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on the procurement of marketing-related services from external suppliers ensuring correct interpretation and implementation of brand guidelines.
  • Prepare and manage photoshoots including: the preparation of photographic briefs, model casting and commissioning photography, and maintaining an updated photo library.
  • Regular liaison with external media, print and design agencies.
  • Represent the CMPE directorate at meetings and events as required.
  • Oversee effective archiving, storage and distribution of all marketing material produced for the University.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with the University’s faculties, professional services and external stakeholders, including professional bodies and agencies.
  • Work in co-operation with the graphics, web and digital, recruitment and events teams, to provide appropriate support materials for recruitment events.
  • Undertake any other appropriate duties as directed by the Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing.
  • Support the development and production of corporate publications, i.e. Annual Review, Financial Statements and Strategic Plan.
