Wellington School has a vacancy for a School Janitor. The post is offered for an initial 2 years fixed term basis on an Annualised Hours contract, equivalent to 37.5 hours per week. Salary will be paid at UK National Living Wage +£1. (A current hourly rate of £10.50)
The janitor is an important member of the school premises and facilities team and will need to be as comfortable working with our pupils, parents and visitors as they are at premises caretaking, maintenance and manual handling duties. A willingness to take a flexible approach to working hours is required as the job will be carried out on alternating opening and closing shifts and the nature of the school can occasionally require late closing or facilitating external lets outside core hours.
The janitor will be a trusted key holder and will also have responsibility for driving the school mini buses. A D1 category on your driving licence is an essential requirement for this role.
You will work closely with our Maintenance Manager and will enjoy physical working and carrying out repairs and maintenance of property and equipment. You should also be adept at accessing information via smartphone apps.
