West Lothian College are looking to appoint an outstanding Assisted Programmes Lecturer who will demonstrate the necessary commitment and enthusiasm to contribute to their team. Working within the friendly and knowledgeable team within the Access, Employability and Schools Faculty, you will be committed to the delivery of high quality teaching and a varied learning experience, focussed on progression and employability.

 

Applications are invited to contribute to the delivery and assessment of classes at SCQF Level 3 and 4 with students who have additional learning needs, mainly learning delay and autism. Topics include, employability, personal safety, personal development, ICT and working with others. You will develop course materials for online and face to face learning, work flexibly and collaborate effectively with other members of the college.

 

Applicants should have a degree or appropriate professional qualification in their specialist field, and sound practical work experience as an Assisted Learning Lecturer.  A teaching qualification and lecturing experience is preferable.

 

Students enrolled on Assisted Programme courses will have significant learning and/or social and emotional needs. The post holder should have an awareness of a variety of needs and an understanding of how and when to adapt their teaching to suit the differing situations they will come across.

 

Successful applicants will be subject to a PVG Disclosure Check which will be paid by the college and must be eligible to work in the UK.

Candidates that have been selected for interview will be required to deliver a 10–15 minute presentation, prepare a class lesson and undertake a competency based interview.
