Job Description

Salary: £17,912 - £18,392 per annum (£9.84 - £10.11 per hour)

Hours: 25 hours per week

Start Date: ASAP (Fixed Term for 12 months)

Our Information Systems faculty requires an Information Point Modern Apprentice on a fixed term basis for 12 months.  This is an exciting opportunity and one where you can have a positive impact on staff, external visitors and students, whilst being given the opportunity for further study and personal development.

You will undertake a wide variety of tasks and with the support of the wider Information Systems team you will provide a first-class enquiry service, signposting on matters such as course enquiries, admissions process, student funding and financial assistance funds, access to welfare support, events, workshops, access to facilities and other support services. You will operate as a one-stop information point, providing advice and support to all stakeholders.

This role will ideally suit a proactive, organised and enthusiastic individual and as this is a frontline service role, it is essential that you have first class customer service skills and excellent interpersonal skills.  Although you will be required to work on your own initiative for much of the time, dealing with issues as they arise, you will be supported on a one-to one basis by other members of the team.

You will already be qualified to SCQF Level 5 or higher and you will have a good working knowledge of IT, particularly Microsoft Office applications.  Experience of working with computerised information systems would be advantageous.

As part of this 12 month fixed term post you will be fully supported to undertake a relevant SVQ3 in Customer Service at SCQF Level 6.

Those shortlisted may be required to undertake a work-related assessed task as part of the selection process.

Working for the college you will benefit from a generous leave entitlement, career average pension scheme, excellent on-site facilities such as gym and restaurant, together with transport, health, wellbeing benefits and retail discounts. The college is located within the town centre with an array of shops and restaurants all within a few minutes walking distance.
