ABOUT THE JOB
To design, develop, programme, administer, support and maintain business intelligence systems, providing data integration services through the development and implementation of an integrated data architecture, in accordance with agree standards and to assist in providing a strategic coordination of these technologies within the general ICT environment across Police Scotland and the SPA.
ABOUT YOU
You will have proven and demonstrable experience in the design, development, testing, publishing, and maintenance of BI semantic datasets, Dashboard visualization and reporting using the Microsoft Business Intelligence platform. And must have experience of or knowledge in most of the following components:
o Power BI Dashboard visualization.
o SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular Modelling.
o SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
o Report Builder (paginated reports).
o SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
o SQL Server 2016 or above.
o Power BI Report Server.
You will have knowledge and experience of Business Intelligence principles and practices; knowledge of the development and administration of Business Intelligence / Corporate Reporting systems design and implementation; knowledge of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) solutions for Business Intelligence; and knowledge of relational database concepts, including a good working knowledge of SQL.
You will have experience of installing and configuring corporate reporting systems and troubleshooting, performance monitoring, tuning and script development in a business intelligence environment and experience designing, developing, and testing business intelligence solutions.
You will be educated to degree in related computer science. Or a Software engineering Discipline.
You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills and strong prioritisation and organisational skills, customer focused.
You will have the ability to work on your own initiative with limited supervision and to work under pressure as part of a team; and proven skills related to team-working and working with customers to elicit and define requirement specifications.
You will have strong analytical skills; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; the ability to use your own initiative and deal with a varied programme of work; and be capable of communicating effectively with both a Technical and non-Technical audiences.
This full time post is permanent and will require Management Level Vetting. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 0900 – 1700.
