ABOUT THE JOB
To design, develop, programme, administer, support and maintain enterprise data systems, providing data integration services through the development and implementation of an integrated data architecture using data Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) tools/techniques, in accordance with agree standards and to assist in providing a strategic co-ordination of these technologies within the general ICT environment across Police Scotland and the SPA.
ABOUT YOU
You will hold a degree in related computer science or software engineering discipline.
You will have an understanding of relational database system management principles, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts and best practices; extensive knowledge of transforming, replicating and cleansing data; of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) solutions for Business Intelligence; and of the development and administration of relational database management systems, including a good working knowledge of SQL.
You will have extensive experience of 24x7 high availability environments, installing and configuring new databases and troubleshooting, performance monitoring, tuning and script development in a database environment; proven experience in a technical role related to enterprise data integration using ETL techniques and technologies; and extensive experience of working with RDBMS in a heterogeneous environment one or more of Oracle 10g or above Microsoft SQL Server.
There are three vacancies for this role:
- x1 Permanent
- x1 Temporary for up to 18 months,
- x1 Temporary for up to 24 months.
All posts are full time and will require Management Level + Security Clearance Vetting. You will work 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.
