ABOUT THE JOB

In conjunction with the Test Analyst Lead and working in collaboration with other members of the Test Team, provide Performance Test services.


Develop performance test scripts and performance test collateral for new and existing solutions (both internally developed and third-party solutions).


Provide technical expertise in Performance Test Script development and execution, liaising closely with other test staff and business subject experts.


Specific responsibility for the development and execution of performance test scripts and test scenarios covering a range of national and local projects.


Responsible for ensuring defined processes and procedures are followed and that all performance test activities are completed within agreed project timescales.


Utilise specialist test knowledge and experience to identify and drive improvements within defined testing processes and procedures.


This role is flexible across Scotland.


ABOUT YOU

You will have an understanding of IT test methodologies and use of test tools.


You will have proven experience of performance test toolsets and knowledge of Test Methodologies, Test Planning, preparation, execution and reporting.


You will have knowledge and experience of:

· HP Quality Centre

· HP UFT or other automated test script toolsets

· EggPlant automated software performance testing.

· Performance monitoring tools: perfmon, vmstat, VSphere.

· Test Methodologies (V-Model, Iterative, Waterfall)

· Test Case Design Techniques (Equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, requirements based testing, scenario testing, Exploratory testing, static testing, dynamic testing, Ad-hoc testing etc).


You will be educated to degree level in related computer science or software engineering discipline.


You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills and trong prioritisation and organisational skills, customer focussed.


You will have the ability to work on your own initiative with limited supervision and to work under pressure as part of a team


You will have proven skills related to team-working and working with customers to elicit and define requirement specifications.


You will have strong analytical skills and be capable of communicating and interacting with both Technical and non-Technical audiences.


You will have the ability to work to tight deadlines.


This full time post is permanent and will require Security Clearance Vetting. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 0900 – 1700.
