Police Scotland is about to embark on a number of projects making use of Robotic Process Automation technology. If you are an experienced Robotic Process Automation Developer seeking a new challenge, why not come and join the team that builds the technologies underpinning one of the most critical public services in Scotland.

Successful applicants will possess the following

  • Understanding of workflow-based logic
  • Experience of Automation tools, such as UIPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python or C# / VB.NET
  • Basic knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Experience with Databases, such as SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience working with APIs / Web Services
  • Experienced of working across live ICT operating environment using enterprise scale applications.
  • Technical experience of deploying, managing, maintaining, upgrading and testing RPA solutions
  • Knowledge of data protection legislation and information security protocols.

Candidates must possess either a degree in a computer science/software engineering discipline with significant commercial experience, or where no formal educational qualification exists, extensive relevant commercial experience is required.

Experience of software development methodologies is essential, Agile Software Development would be beneficial.

In addition to strong technical skills, the successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills. Using established and emerging software practices, the successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of enterprise scale applications within Police Scotland. The role requires strong multi-disciplined programming skills as you will be involved in all stages of the development, from the initial conversations through design, development, testing and delivery.

This full time post is temporary and requires Management Vetting. You will work 35 hours per week working Monday – Friday 0900 – 1700 hours (flexi-time arrangements are available).
