ABOUT THE JOB
The Technical Officer will be responsible for the provision of professional support for the capital programme and other related estates projects.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will provide as directed, necessary design and technical advisory services to support ‘one-stop’ approach for minor remedial, adaptation, improvement and estates related works. They will provide planning supervision support for a variety of projects and undertake Client duties in terms of the CDM Regulations 2015 when required.
Applicants must educated to HNC/HND or equivalent in a building related discipline, with a professional membership/association advantageous, or have equivalent and relevant experience in a building related discipline.
Applicants must have excellent communications skills, be able to represent the department at internal and external forums, and be fully proficient in AutoCad (3D beneficial but not mandatory). Applicants will provide, as directed, input in preparation of briefs and specifications utilising standard specifications associated with estates related matters, assist in the preparation of property assessment surveys and advise on H&S matters.
You need to be adaptable and flexible to meet the demands of the job, often at short notice, assessing priorities and adapting to fluctuating workloads. You will be responsible for managing and assessing risk within all areas of managerial/supervisory responsibility.
This full time post is permanent and will require Standard Recruitment Vetting. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 0900 – 1700.
