Location - as per current board location and will involve frequent travel to meetings mainly in Edinburgh
Duration - 24 month secondment on existing terms and conditions

Executive Support to the Board Chief Executives’ Group
A vacancy has arisen in the small executive team that has been created to support the NHS Scotland Health Board Chief Executives and other Executive Directors' groups.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will already hold a relatively senior position in NHS Scotland and will use the opportunity of working with the Chief Executives to take a proactive approach and create real capacity to take forward many of the issues regularly under discussion.
Applicants should have an extensive knowledge of the NHS in Scotland and how to operate within it effectively. Applicants must also be able to work on their own initiative in order to provide a resource that will enable Chief Executives' to have a proactive, effective and timely response to emerging issues. The post will also work across the Executive Director groups (HR, Finance, Medical, Nursing, Planning and Public Health) to provide co-ordination and a cohesion to ensure the work of these groups aligns to that of the Chief Executives' Group.
This is an excellent career development opportunity. The successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution to the management and leadership agenda in NHS Scotland and will gain significant exposure to Board Chief Executives and Executive Directors.
