The NRRD provides a comprehensive, effective and robust organisation-wide structure for risk management, integrated emergency planning and resilience, business continuity and specialised operational response, including the Special Operations Response Teams and Community First Responders across Scotland. The Department also manages logistics and training for specialised response. We work directly with the Scottish Government and an extensive network of external organisations responsible for resilience and emergency response on a Scottish and UK level.
Reporting to the Risk Manager, NRRD, the Risk Management Administrator will play a key role in assisting the Risk Manager in the management of risks, claims, complaints and adverse incidents, including recording and reporting systems and the dissemination of Safety Alerts, to underpin and facilitate the risk management policies of the Service. You will be responsible for the further development of the risk management database (DATIX) system. This would include co-ordinating the associated training within the Service together with providing comprehensive support, with the aim of improving and expanding end user knowledge and proficiency in the use of the system. You will also act as the minute secretary for various committees and will organise appointments, meetings and diary commitments for Risk Management and other functions within NRRD.
You will be a flexible and industrious individual, and will also have good written and verbal communication skills. You will also have well developed analytical and administrative skills and have the ability to work to a high standard on your own initiative. You should also be computer literate and be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and ideally, the Datix database. You will also be required to deal with sensitive information for which security vetting will be required in addition to standard baseline personnel checks.
Informal enquires are welcome and should be directed to Sarah Stevenson, Risk Manager, NRRD on 0141 810 6653.
