The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Equipment Support Operative, based in our Fleet and Equipment workshops in Newbridge Edinburgh on a permanent basis. This is a full-time opportunity, working 35 hours per week.

 

 

The successful candidate will be required to carry out inspections and repairs on service equipment. Working to standards laid down by suppliers, manufacturers and NFCC (National Fire Chiefs Council). Must have either a recognised qualification in machinery/plant maintenance or a minimum period of two years' experience in a similar environment. 

 

The working pattern for this role is a split shift pattern; 

Week 1 Monday- Friday 07:00am to 2.30pm 

Week 2 Monday- Friday 11.30am to 7.00pm

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements.  A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
