The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Resource Centre Driver, based at our Asset Management Resource Centre in Inverness.


The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting items including; goods, equipment and mail between Service premises and external organisations and providing assistance within the resource centre as necessary.


Applicants must hold a current, valid driving licence and be prepared to undertake training to Large Goods Vehicles standard, if not already held.


The successful applicant must have the ability to work flexibly and have general knowledge of vehicle maintenance with the ability to carry out routine inspections, maintenance (e.g. oil, tyres and water) and cleaning of vehicles as directed or required. Previous experience in transporting vehicles, goods and equipment in addition to working in a distribution/stores environment would be advantageous.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
