The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Youth Volunteer Scheme National Officer. We currently have one vacancy who will support the national scheme. The post holder will be based at a Service Delivery Area HQ, with some flexibility over the permanent office base location. This is a full-time opportunity, working 35 hours per week, however applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share or flexible working basis would be considered.
The Youth Volunteer Scheme National Officer will oversee and coordinate the effective delivery of the SFRS Youth Volunteer scheme, supporting Local Scheme Coordinators and Volunteer Youth Instructors. The post holder will engage with local Community Safety Managers and act as a key point of contact for Youth Volunteer matters for the Prevention and Protection Directorate.
The post holder will design, develop and implement the national programme and be expected to liaise with a range of key external partners.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
This post is subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. The successful candidate will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and will be required to carry out regulated work with adults and children.
