We are seeking an ambitious Executive Assistant, who values freedom, purpose and autonomy in how they work. Are you looking for a career opportunity that offers you the chance to be part of an organisation that helps to create a better Scotland?

We’re Scotland’s public sector auditor, independent of Government - we employ around 280 talented professionals who know that their work helps ensure the efficient and effective delivery of public services across Scotland. We believe that public money should be spent wisely to make the lives of Scotland’s people the very best it can be.

To help achieve this we need a world class Executive Assistant, predominately based in Edinburgh, but who has flexibility to work in Glasgow to fully support the Auditor General for Scotland, the Accounts Commission and Audit Scotland’s senior leadership team.

How can you help us?

You will provide a professional, confidential and proactive administrative and executive support service to members of our Leadership Group, enabling them to focus on organisational and strategic priorities. Key strengths and responsibilities include:

  • Being proactive, organised and resourceful – managing complex and demanding diaries, emails, organising meetings and events, preparing documents and coordinating all travel and accommodation arrangements efficiently and accurately.
  • You understand the strategic objectives of those you support - and use this knowledge to help them make best use of their time. For example, you will ensure agendas are prepared, issued and actions are tracked in advance of key meetings.
  • You will also be the first point of contact for internal and external contacts, successfully building strong relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • You will be flexible and able to provide support both directly and remotely to senior leaders based at other locations.

What you need to succeed

We are looking for people who are excited about this role, with proven PA/EA experience, and with the gravitas and diplomacy skills to provide executive support to senior stakeholders.

You must be proficient in MS Office, display a high level of attention to detail and bring excellent organisational skills to manage multiple and competing demands. Independent, resourceful and proactive, you will manage not only your own time but the time of those you support, to ensure they deliver on key priorities.

What you'll get in return

Working for Scotland’s spending watchdog will be challenging, but equally, it’s extremely rewarding, so we have put in place a very competitive package. Not only will you receive fantastic exposure to a world class audit organisation, there’s also great potential for development within the role. Don’t just take our word for it, we were voted 2017 One to Watch status by the Sunday Times Best Companies Survey.

Interested?

We're keeping this nice and simple - click the apply button, attach your CV and tell us your story explaining how your skills and experience meet the requirements of the role.

If you like us and equally we think you’re great, then we’ll ask you to do an online assessment and then invite you to meet us in our Edinburgh office on Tuesday 13 February 2018. If successful, we’ll agree a package and share our journey together – helping to make work better for our people and, in turn, helping make Scotland a better place for the people that live here.
