VACANCY - EARLY INTERVENTION OFFICER

Salary: £13.86/hr for 32 hrs/wk – (£23,125.13p.a.)

GUARANTEED UNTIL MARCH 2023

Funded by the Scottish Governments Third Sector Homelessness Fund the main aim of the I’M IN Project is to increase the number of positive homelessness prevention outcomes in South Ayrshire by encouraging upstream of early referrals through partnership collaboration across sectors.

Delivered in partnership with SeAscape the approach is 2-fold with an Early Intervention Development Officer (employed by SeAscape) who will raise awareness to generate early referrals and this vacancy - Early Intervention Officer, who will pick up the referrals and give advice, advocacy and directly seek to prevent homelessness.

You will collaborate with the Development Officer who will establish relationships and encourage external agencies to identify and refer service users prior to crisis. These referrals will then come to you to allow early intervention and increase the success of homeless prevention.

Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and policy. You will have a comprehensive understanding of Benefits, income maximisation and grant to relieve poverty. The successful candidate will become part of our Scottish National Standards Accredited Advice Team to provide free, confidential and impartial Housing Advice and Advocacy with the main focus on early intervention and homeless prevention. You will assist vulnerable people within the Private Rented Sector who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness and if necessary link to our Tribunal Worker. Two hours per week will be spent providing the Centre’s HEY project in Schools as and when required. Use of a car and driving licence is essential.
