In February 2021, Fife Council produced a service brief relating to Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Supports and Services for Fife. The service brief links closely to the Our Minds Matter framework in Fife and reports to a multi agency Senior Operating Group in Fife. The funding for this service brief was for an initial 6-8 month period and Barnardo's were successful in securing funding to cover Levenmouth and North East Fife areas of Fife. The second phase of the funding was released in September and we secured further funding to expand the service to cover the North East Fife, Levenmouth, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath areas of Fife. This service will commence the next phase on January 1st 2022 and is funded for an initial period of two years.

This service will deliver a variety of interventions which aim to support the emotional health needs of children, young people, and families. We aim to offer a range of supports in the form of group programmes, support groups, workshops, one to one therapeutic support and training to other professionals. We will offer support to children and young people 5-24 (26 if care experienced) and their families.

The aim of this service is to increase the capacity of existing services by providing early prevention and intervention through upskilling, supporting, and educating the community. Our hope is to enable young people to have positive mental health and wellbeing, thrive in their community and to be able to bounce back from life's challenges. Additionally, we aim to support parents to feel confident in responding to their children's mental health needs and increase their capacity to support them.

We are looking for a Project Worker who is passionate about working in this area of work and who is excited about joining a small but committed team to help grow the service and develop practice to meet the needs of the children, young people and families of Fife.

You will primarily be responsible for supporting the groupwork side of the service.
