Job Title: Scheme Assistant

Location: Canal Street, Perth (Very sheltered housing development)

Hours: 16 - 22 hours per week (negotiable) on a shift pattern over 7 days including evenings.

Salary: £7,030 - £9,666 per annum between 16 - 22 hours per week (£8.45 per hour) - Pay award pending

Closing Date: 12 noon on Wednesday 14th March 2018

We currently have a vacancy for a Scheme Assistant to join the team at Canal Street, Perth, providing a professional housing support service to our tenants to help them live as independently as possible in their own homes.

It is a varied role and you can expect to be involved in domestic tasks, liaising with tenants, dealing with emergencies and tenant related queries, helping with meal preparation and serving, as well as administrative tasks.

Previous experience of providing housing support services is not essential but it would be advantageous if you have worked in a customer facing role.

Ideally you be qualified to SVQ Level 2 in Social Services and Healthcare ( or equivalent) or be willing to undertake this training to enable you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council in due course. An Elementary Food Hygiene certificate would also be advantageous. You will also be required to use a computer for administrative duties, therefore IT skills would be helpful.

However if you do not have an SVQ qualification, we will support you in gaining it over the next two to three years and will provide other relevant training too.

Hours are negotiable between 16 and 22 hours per week on a rota basis including evenings. Flexibility to work additional shifts is essential for this post to cover holidays and absence.

The successful applicant will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and there is a 6 month probationary period for this role.

Benefits

The hourly rate is above the national living wage and is expected to meet Scottish Living Wage from April.

33 days annual leave (pro-rata for part time employees)

Health related benefits such as payment for gym membership and cash back plans

Access to a free counselling service

Childcare Vouchers

Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 14th March 2018.
