About the role

Due to a promotion, we can fill a substantive post. We are looking for an individual with a strong background and passion in quality improvement to join the Quality Improvement Support Team (QIST) on a permanent basis.

The post holder will directly support and report to the QI Support Manager to embed quality improvement (QI) methodology and develop the organisation’s QI support role in line with the Improvement Strategy, which supports improved outcomes for people experiencing care services and services commissioned by community planning partnerships. You will also work strategically across several organisations.

You will also be responsible providing line management support and direction for a small team of Improvement Advisers.

The postholder will provide internal and external professional leadership, direction, support and expert consultancy on all aspects of QI methodology to further develop and maintain networks of specialist improvement advice, skills and knowledge.

You will also be involved in other aspects of the QIST role, supporting the building of QI capacity and capability to your colleagues within the Care Inspectorate. Also, working nationally to provide QI support as priorities are identified throughout the year.

About you

Educated to degree level, together with the NES Scottish Improvement Leader (ScIL) programme (or working towards), or an equivalent improvement science qualification.

You will have significant experience in working across the health or social care sector and extensive knowledge and understanding of improvement science, the Model for Improvement and its practical application in health and social care settings. You will have excellent communications skills and significant experience of developing and delivering improvement projects and/or programmes, preferably within the social care sector.

Current work delivery methods will be timely reviewed against the Covid-19 national position and public health guidance. Whenever face to face work activities recommence, the role may require extensive travel and involve some overnight stays and unsocial hours.
