The Role

We are looking to recruit a fully qualified Social Worker (DipSW, Degree or Msc in Social Work) to join our Family Based Care Team to offer quality support, guidance and supervision to our carers.

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will be part of a supportive team providing high quality individualised support to our carers. We keep caseloads lower to give you more time to spend supporting your carers to help deliver the best possible outcomes for our young people. You also have direct access to our support workers who can work directly with young people on specific issues.

You will have a key role in matching vulnerable young people with our carers to ensure they find a safe and nurturing home to help them fulfil their potential.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of childcare and protection practice, legislation and care standards and be committed to multi-agency working to bring about positive outcomes for children and young people.

You must be able to communicate effectively involving carers and young people in decision-making processes ensuring that the needs of the young person at are at the centre of all decisions.

You will have the ability to undertake comprehensive assessments within set timescales.

You must be committed to continuous learning and development and be willing to engage in our culture of Growth Mindset.

You must be/or be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timeframe.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
