Central Scotland Valuation Joint Board covers the Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Council areas. The Assessor for the Valuation Joint Board is responsible for compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll for Non-Domestic Rates and the Valuation List for Council Tax. The Assessor is also the Electoral Registration Officer for three Councils (Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire) and in that capacity is responsible for maintaining the Register of Electors and Absent Vote Lists. The Board employees approximately 45 people and our office is at Hillside House, Laurelhill Business Park, Stirling.

We are looking to recruit a Valuer or Trainee Valuer to work within our Valuation Team.

Applications are invited from members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Consideration will also be given to Graduates with an RICS accredited degree who are working towards the Assessment of Professional Competence of the RICS (valuation pathway), or candidates with relevant experience in an Assessors Service or equivalent experience in the land and property sector who possess the entry requirements for the BSc in Real Estate Management at the College of Estate Management, or another similar RICS accredited qualification.

Consideration will also be given to candidates who meet the entry qualifications for the postgraduate MSC in Real Estate at CEM.

Dependant on experience, the successful candidate will be responsible for the survey and valuation of a wide range of property for rating purposes, the survey and valuation of domestic property for Council Tax, the negotiation of appeals with ratepayers and professional agents and the presentation of evidence before the Valuation Appeal Committee.
